Saw Tim hinting at a DTGL tour announcement soon. For all the new garbage they make, they still put on a hell of a show

I would honestly go to that. It's the album that made me core obsessed

He really sounds like Spencer on a few songs. I mean it as a compliment. I also think Cove sounds a lot like him on the new Saosin song

maybe i hear it a little now on the more atmospheric tracks like teeth and oblivion.

but it is so cool to see their continued evolution. i was really taken aback by the darker atmosphere here. still haste the day to me but definitely different.

imagine if we get more. probably not but what if! pretty crazy after 10 (really 15) years that they didn't miss a beat. even sound better in someways.

Hell yeah Futures, great review brother!

Album is super solid but honestly didn't have a lot of staying power. Think I prefer Coward tbh but the highlights on here are sky high. Shallows, Gnasher, and Adrift are definitely my favs. Oh and the closer is fkn epic

appreciate the kind words as always jay!

totally get that, both are really different. i relistened to coward a few days ago and they are close. lot more traditionally aggressive. i appreciate how much of a changeup this is comparatively though, each of the last 3 i love how they sound like 3 takes on separate styles of metalcore.

but yeah the back half of this really slays. closing 3 tracks in particular i keep going back to.

Yeah some of the higher clean vox sound very similar to Spencer imo, like the chorus of Adrift for example. Is it Stephen or Brennan singing those higher register vox? idk I'm dumb lol

stephen does all the higher pitched cleans, brennan does the rest mostly except murphy the bassist who has an even deeper voice is on grave

Crazy how they have three great vocalists when Stephen could do it all himself. Dude is a beast

Really regret listening to half the album prior to the full release :/

Liminal and Adrift are fantastic

definitely mimsy, murphy is really great. he could easily fill in all the cleans, so good on grave. such a deep rich tone. but i also love brennan.

and yeah i truly despise the trend of releasing half the album as singles lol. i did burn ofc because it was a year in advance and then shallows, then waited for the album.
