Yeah, I don't think metalcore is inherently bad by any means. There are plenty of metalcore albums I like. This just feels so soulless and lacking in depth or energy.

The closer was bad and had Sleeptokenitis. This albums a mixed bag of sometimes great other times very weird. In some ways i see it as what Architects could have acheived had tom not passed away and they stayed a path of more technical metalcore.
Also i see 3.0 as decent not good lol

i'm curious as to what you find to be the great bits cus i listened to this twice today and except for the glaringly bad bits i cannot tell these tracks apart
every time i wanted to be charitable to this trainwreck it'd do something that'd aggravate me and remind me i could instead be listening to the new neurosis record instead

Its most definitely very samey, but I love the vocals throughout, and being a fan of the late-2000s/early-2010's scene stuff, the breakdowns give me the stank face hard lol. Idk, I get the criticisms, I just disagree with them.

Theres some of the metalcore bits i liked Noctus from my core kid days but outside of that nostalgia enjoyment thats about it. I think it scratches that old Architects itch kind of.
