zak I can never quite pin down your taste. Sometimes I think you'll despise something and you end up loving it; other times it's the total opposite.
Also yeah Plastic Guru is money

If it makes me nod or bang my head
Makes me want to raise my hands or thump my chest
Tap or shuffle me feet
Provokes a thought
Comes from a place I belong to figuratively
It’s going to be a 3.5 at the very least
This is a 2, I do like The Happy Dictator and the whistley one though.

AND YOU LIKE THE WHISTLEY ONE!?!? Haha I would've thought fs that would be peak garbage to you. Anyone I've talked to who isn't especially into Gorillaz has pointed to Orange County as particularly grating.
|
| |
Impossible not to whistle along to it.
|
| |
the happy dictator is kinda crap... most of this is just boring as hell to me. Not what i like about Gorillaz at all. Song Machine still their best post-PB release, ez.

That's a respectable take tbh. Song Machine has some massive bangers, no doubt about it.

feel like making a best Gorillaz songs post-PB list

Do it! And then pls share it here. I'm all about making playlists these days lol
|
| |
there it is... Might add some more SM songs to it, tbh.

I actually prefer Cracker Island, the hate for that album was unwarranted lol. I dunno how I feel about this one, but it's definitely not clicked with me yet. It's nice background music whilst I work.
|
| |
It's sorta clicking with me, now I say that. Not 100% on a rating yet. There's a lot to this album, it's pretty neat.
EDIT - Alright I actually kinda love this lol
|
| |
I don’t get the cracker island ‘hate’ at all.
In real life everyone I know likes it, I love it.
|
| |
Yeah Cracker Island rules^ I feel like it's one of their most cohesive albums, personally
|

I’m with ya mate

Cracker Island was not for me but it did add two songs to my Gorillaz best of playlist, so there is that... Song Machine added four though.

I've never really gotten into Gorillaz but I'm about halfway through and this is pretty fun, very relaxing.

could have cut down some tracks that dont add a lot but otherwise this is wonderful. it would be so easy for the indian instrumentation to be tacky but theres such a clear genuine reverence for it and its executed so well, and the moments it melds with other genres like hip-hop are truly fantastic.

Agreed on that. The Indian music is interwoven really well instead of tacked on top of the songs.
