Jacob said this record is more metal and the new one is more “emotional hardcore”, so yeah I’m very fuckin hyped

It fucking owns massively

Love their moodier, more experimental side so the new one should be a treat. This record was much more meat and potatoes which after the reveal of the new one makes a lot more sense

Yeah I think that we can expect something very different from them with Hum of Hurt. The single isn’t really anything too far out there for them but the way Jacob describes it, and just everything we know about it from the track names to the artwork (especially) just seems kinda weird for them. I’m expecting it to be just as (if not more) bleak and depressive as this. I mean ffs there’s songs called “Slip the Noose” and “It Only Gets Worse”.

I’m really excited to hear Dream Debris, it’s the longest song since Dusk in Us, if we’re not counting Bloodmoon I. And it’s looking like the songs will flow into each other a lot because the title track opens and closes with feedback that seems to be pretty clearly leading into something else.

I was honestly hoping we’d get a second record this year, considering they literally said they had like 30 songs written, and the biggest indicator was that Doom In Bloom was nowhere to be found on Love is Not Enough, but I didn’t think it’d actually happen. I’m even more excited for this record than I was for that one… the title track is better than most of the songs here lol

Yeah shit is insane. I knew everyone was going nuts unable to talk about the album announcement. Two albums in a year? Haven’t seen that shit happen in a long time.

Love the single.

And hey guys, I thought sput was down for good. I find so much great music because of this site, like this is where I first heard of Converge, and now they’ve been my favorite band for like 10 years.

Gotdamn. I think I like this even more than Jane doe. One listen on this, 3 on Jane doe. Gonna go back and go chronologically, was just curious to see how their sound had progressed to present day.
