Think some of this feels like it’s being overdone, it’s pretty mid but not awful. The performances are decent, lots of riffs, solid production, it’s just Dave’s songwriting and attempts and clean singing which stick out as big negs

I'll never forget that day. There I was, standing in line to enter the venue, when this elderly gentleman strolls up to me. He smells of cigarettes and cheap beer, and beneath his thinning gray hair he's adorned in a battle vest and camo shorts. Decorated in honorary patches like a thrash metal soldier, I'm quick to discern this man is, indeed, a Megadeth fan.
"You got a lighter?" He asks, his breath staunch with neglect and whiskey.
"Afraid not", I reply, mesmerized by this elderly metallic shaman.
He places a cigarettes in his mouth, fumbling with great vigor through the confines of his shorts. Naught is produced, with every cargo compartment turned out, and he soon sets site on the vest. He produces a light blue bic from the left compartment, sparking the cigarette and taking a drag with the most profound glee in his eyes.
"You know", he says, pausing to bless me with a contemplative exhale. It was at that point I knew I was on the verge of a grand revelation. I could hardly contain myself as my eyes grew wide, my blood ran cold, and my breath grew baited. What could this omnipotent being, so full of knowledge and wisdom, have to share with a simpleton like me? The anticipation was killing me. I simply had to know. His thoughts strain through the enlightenment of Budweiser and Jameson, he takes a deep breath, and proclaims: "Megadeth is better than Metallica."
I was floored. I simply couldn't believe that I, of all the people waiting in line to see Slayer that day, was chosen to receive this invaluable message. I still think about it to this day, and I often wonder how I lived without it. I thanked him profusely for sharing, and we both agreed as to the importance of such a message. Now if only more Megadeth fans thought the same, and were committed to sharing that sentiment all the time, perhaps the world could become more aware. Maybe someday...
