I can't lie, I'm getting pretty sick of this style of post-hardcore. feels like I've already heard fifty other bands that sound exactly like this.

Im kind of in the middle, I definitely get the mixing complaints (like why does the guitar sound so quiet) but its still pretty good for what they were going for. I think it is a bit overproduced in that it sounds something like it could be top tier swan core but it ends up sounding like a modern metalcore album.

Besides the Mixing / Mastering issues here, I think the Vocals are also one of the key issues. Not only does Matt Geise Vocals sound very monotonous, singing the same 3 notes and musical line over and over again. He also doesn’t really sound very skilled. For the most parts his vocals don’t really fit to the instruments at all and he‘s just mumbling over it. I get the point that there is 10 - 15 years between their last output. But even still, when I‘m going to record a whole album I‘d go for some training and singing lessons and do what’s possible to get the best out of it? It doesn’t sound like that.
Overall these issues make it sound very amateur.

I feel like LD sticks out within post hardcore and they scratch a similar itch Emarosa did back in the day

I'll be honest - I really don't like Matt's voice. He sounded so unique on their previous output (or at least he had his own recognizable Palumbo impression) and he sounds weird here. You can hear bits of his older style in songs like Spires. I'm not sure, all the songs are good but they aren't hitting for me like I expected them to, outside of some like the title track and Spires. I'll keep listening and hope I get used to Matt's voice but he was a huge draw for why I loved Lower D.
I agree on the production too. It sounds a bit flat to me.

I hated it at first, but i caught myself singing loom and blackflower to myself at work. Miami nights 2 is fun wish it was longer

I suggest listening to the second half separatly. The second half has some really good jams. I prefer it towards the first half.
I think the production is one reason why the vocals sound so weird. Especially with "Loom" you notice a lot of parallel processing with lower vocals + dense compression just make it sound flat.
I also noticed that they sound slightly different on every song. Miami Nights II is the best song imo
