This is technically good but I've heard this EP a thousand times over the past ten years and I didn't like it then. Not really liking it now.

its definitely currents by the numbers

I don’t know there’s some shred here and the heavy is appreciated even if the formula is the same

Can't recall listening to this band before. The clean vocals, as with most modern metalcore are intolerable. Luckily they are few and far between across the 5 songs and every track brings some solid riffs and breakdowns.

The pacing is perfect

I usually give EPs a skip but this is so good. All 5 tracks are great - Making Circles is probably my favourite

Agreed, there are a bunch of banger EPs out there.

If I like this, what else modern should I check out?

Invent Animate imho

I don't think Pit would end up enjoying Invent, Animate's cleans, but I'd be happily surprised if I was wrong there.
Honestly, a lot of what led me to rate this so highly is that while there's a ton of modern -core out there that sounds similar to this, nothing really is exactly like it that I can think of.
@pit I do wonder what you'd think of Advent's latest EP - God is the End though.

If he likes these cleans I don’t know why he wouldn’t like IA, but also I meant their pre-Marcus stuff anyway lol
|
| |
Well supposedly Pit isn't necessarily Pit

Oh wtf? That's news to me. How odd.
@Nash I guess that's fair if you're alluding to pre-Marcus I/A, but imo Greyview and Heavener are their best records. For me, their old stuff was fun but kind of unsurprising, and I think the way they really leaned into their own style later on really did it for me.
