I can see the master complaints since there is very little treble on this, but I like the vibes. Like it was recorded in a cabin somewhere in the icy mountains with a lot of thick blankets wrapped around the walls...

The bigger parts however sound like they are playing somewhere high up in the mountains and you are listening from a distance, especially with those delayed toms in depart / dive. Very cool sound that fits the record well imo.

the one thing i'll say about the master is the lack of treble encourages you to crank it up and it's a deeply enveloping sound - when you put it on a really powerful system it really comes alive. i have no complaints about the master at all - it's their best sounding record as far as i'm concerned.

as a side note i do think the whole thing abouut 1000+ tracks is nonsense really - there's no reason a record that sounds this spacious needs that many and it's a strange and unnecessary marketing point.

Idk if I think it sounds better than Sorni Nai yet, but its second at the very least in their discog. Sorni Nai is like being caught in a blizzard whereas this is more like the calm before the storm.

Yeah, I usually like that on masters. Also really like how cozy the low end feels here. The 1000+ tracks thing is very weird, maybe since they used so many different synths / guitar sounds / effects? If you count every delay used they can probably reach 1000+ I suppose lol. If it grabs attention it's a plus for them though ; )

sorni nai and kaiho have some annoying production quirks that have been corrected here (sorni nai's annoying pick scrapes and kaiho's piano distortion)

i'm sorry if you didn't notice those issues cus now i've pointed them out you won't be able to unhear it ;]

Sometimes production like this can accidentally be perfect for it. Lack of clarity in some sections give it a more spacey and cathedral like feel

oh yeah. Really digging this and I can see it growing on further listens. Makes me wanna do a discog run, don't know most of their material.
