Looking forward to this. Singles have been whatever, not good or bad.

It seems like Thrice enjoyed making H/W which is what really matters and the album isn't terrible, but similar to Palms, it's inconsequential and just... exists. Honestly, I don't want Thrice to make another Vheissu or Alchemy, but I keep holding on to the hope that Thrice want to create another album that makes a bold statement. Although H/E wasn't perfect, it did have its creative and inspiring moments. It felt like a set up for something greater. After four years, H/W just isn't the album I expected.

I think this has Palms type of songwriting and production which is putting some folks off, but I've always loved Palms.

idk I am a Palms apologist and I liked its companion EP well enough but, as @bc013 said, at this point in their carreer they should've made a statement and not release Palms 2.0
It sucks because they even went and revisited Artist in the Ambulance and the buildup to this seemed like they were going heavy again, at least somewhat, but no it's like nothing happened since 2018.

I've enjoyed every single so far. Excited for this record! Shaping up to be my favorite since TBEITBN.

Pretty divisive album this one. Makes me even more excited to listen honestly, I dug the singles apart from The Dark Glow.
Looking forward to jamming this when I get home

Just finished my first listen of this. I didn’t have high hopes for this after Gnash, but I really enjoyed it. None of the tracks felt particularly weak to me, and there was a lot of stuff that was fun on a first pass. Vesper Light rules. Are we sure that’s Dustin on the verses? Doesn’t sound like him to me, and I’m wondering if it’s Eddie or Teppei
Edit: nvm, just read an interview where they confirm that’s Dustin

Yeah I was really impressed by his vocal performance on Vesper Light

This was just fine first listen, but I have a strong feeling it'll be a grower.
Vesper Light is a massive highlight, wish Dustin did more vocals like that on here. Gotta spend some more time with this but honestly I thought East was way better upon early impressions.

Should I listen to this if every album since their reunion has gotten worse for me?

Doubt it would do much for ya bro, but at least check Vesper Light.
Holding On is great too, classic Thrice jam

I feel like Thrice is a band that always has slashes in their album titles, even if this is the first time it's happened.

I am simply just whelmed by this one. I think it would have hit harder if it came out three years ago when it was supposed to. I get that it’s a sequel but because it was written/recorded so long after the planned double album, it does kinda feel like a retread of ideas/formulas, ie. Scavengers/Gnash, Albatross/Burning In The Sun, Summer/Holding On, etc. all serving roughly the same purposes and spots on the album and while different enough on their own- I can’t shake the Déjà vu esque feeling of it. There’s some GREAT cuts on this album such as Vesper or The Dark Glow, and Gnash, but outside of those I don’t think most of the album really hits me the same way most of the highlights from East do. It kinda lacks hooks overall, which Ik is some what a complaint with their post hiatus material, but it feels especially apparent here to me

Like a lot of post-hiatus Thrice there are some pretty good highlights here - can't say I'm blown away by it but I'm definitely not complaining.

Vesper Light sounds like something off of Vheissu.

First listen was fine. Might be a grower, but it likely won't reach stellar heights. Time will tell, I did end up enjoying H/E more over time.

Much better than I though it would be. The first 2 and last 2 tracks are the highlight.

I was very happy to see a lot of callbacks to the Vheissu era, like "Undertow" recalling the oceanic vibes from "Atlantic" (and Alchemy II), "Vesper Light" immediately reminded me of "The Earth Will Shake" and then "Distant Suns" is just the most emotional track they've done post Major/Minor, it hits exactly all the right spots.
I was also expecting something more aggressive after The Artist Revisited, but this will do just fine. Man, Vheissu really was lighting in a bottle.
