What’s holding this back from being a 5 is that it is just too damn long with too many songs… but i have no fucking clue what I’d cut. Just 15 songs, over an hour, it’s too much. I think this is their best record, and like i said in the other thread i think the features really help differentiate tracks because as much as i love the vocals, there’s not a lot of range, which you really start to feel when you’re making something approaching the hour mark.
Idk. Despite all that this is one of the best albums of the year, top 3 probably.

Those titles are both so sad.

This is some dark ass shit.

I guess that's why they cut tinted civic, blood pony, sled dog (unreleased track) otherwise it would've ended up being like 80 minutes
I'll take as much as I can get from them though, and I feel like the songs are distinct enough that none of it seems redundant
My mum was enjoying I have a key to your house and said it sounds like nirvana and the pixies (the only two reference bands she really knows) but the end threw her off a bit lmao

Yeah I remember wondering why those tracks weren’t on the record because they were fire… idk maybe a couple more of these songs would’ve just been nice singles to drop instead of being included on this bloated ass record (that i still love pretty much every minute of i just have a very short attention span and hour long records intimidate me)

i adore every single song on this record and feel like it flows by on a breeze, but "Pliers" is probably my least favorite if any cuts had to be made. cutting anything else feels like diminishing the story.
"Tinted Civic" absolutely should've made the album though.

This album is dark af. Idk if I prefer this over the debut atm but it's at least as good for sure.

Interesting take from your mom on that song, Eph!
Where can we hear unreleased songs like Sled Dog??

I actually wish they would write more sinister sounding tracks like pliers
They never released sled dog just mentioned it in a livestream and I said the people need to hear it, they said they might bundle it together with the other singles and drop it as an ep or something
Also I heard the producer say something like he's been working with CA since the first album when it was just Tony... surely he didn't play every instrument? Anyone know who else was in the band then?

Horrifying album art. Too spooky I will not be listening

This is long and feels long but EVERY song is literally great which is impressive

listening to it rn. really digging the 2nd track, sounds like depressive suicidal version of depeche mode
edit: wow the next two are bangers too. think I'm gonna love this, it's really catchy but the atmosphere is so dense and fucked up. it's also pretty varied so far, really really good

An EP would be sick
And wtf was it only Tony on the first album? That would be impressive even tho that record doesnt hold up to the two that came after it
"depressive suicidal version of depeche mode" (2)

@frost drugs is the debut, padded room is the follow up
they have three bangers in 4 years, it's honestly wild how productive they are

Very impressive and very unique - they will be going places I think.

Damn, off the mark with my interpretation. Nice to know all the story of the album is there. Interesting there's so many characters when I thought it was just Belle and her bad dad, lol.

Still growing on me but this album feels even longer than the last one, some tunes come across like gruelling mood pieces but that was the same deal on the last one to some extent, maybe a bit more of that here.

I don't really feel the length as much as you guys seem to
it's a rollercoaster with some intensity but sections never wear out their welcome in fact many don't stick around long enough for my liking, and the buried vocals make it a bit less in your face than their past releases which adds to the listenability, more so than most hour+ long albums
But I've only listened from front to back a few times

I switch off a bit after the title track, for me it that is about enough but again that was similar to the last album.
The closing tracks on both albums are worth getting to though.
