Yeah it's a known issue. It doesn't occur on Tidal, so it's probably just a problem with Spotify.

Same issue happened on the new Young Gods album earlier in the year, it affected about half the songs on that one, and then Spotify fixed the issue after three or four days

One of my most played of the year, up there with their best - probably their strongest since 'Only Heaven'

I didn't jam the two before this, do they rule? The Plague Within also rips.

Finally got to read the review, and needless to write, it's great as always.

About tracks 6-8, the only really passable one imho is "Savage Ways" which is good while it lasts, but swiftly eludes memory upon completion.

Based on 2-3 listens, this is better than Obsidian, first of all due to the massive, massive sound work, and second and foremost, the fact that this one feels much less a compilation of the band's works and days, and more like an attempt to break whatever new ground has been left uncharted.

Edit:

In "Salvation", Holmes momentarily sounds like he is making an impression of Alan Averil from Primordial, but Nemtheanga was actually invited to sing in this song!

This is one of my favs of the year so far tbh. I think there are tracks here that are better than Obsidian but overall i think Obsidian is a more consistent and thought out record than this. I may fiddle with the track list later and see if i can rearrange it

Obsidian was also my intro to the band. I’m finally listening to the new album now. Preordered the vinyl for this and it arrived today. To my surprise it came with an insert of the cover art with all of the band’s signatures in gold sharpie on it. So that’s sick.

How did this stark town not make the official album? Great.
