it is quite good, like i don't hate it, think i have it rated at a low 4 for me, just much prefer this and his other works, adz occasionally gets annoying if i listen to it to much....good in small doses for me haha

Yeah I feel like if you really love this, it's understandable to NOT really dig Adz, you know? It's kind of a departure from this style, although it's bombastic like Illinois, just in a much different way. But I really think stuff like Vesuvius, I Want To Be Well, and ESPECIALLY Impossible Soul (which is one of the best songs ever) capture his eclectic style better than anything else he's done.

yeah i can understand that, i don't really enjoy much electronic stuff at the best of times and much prefer the stripped down sound of this and Tallest Man on Earth and Owen....i guess a similar parallel is with Iron & Wine's new album which polarized their fan base by going down the similar stylistic change that Sufjan went through after this album, i love their older works aswell, new one didn't sit real well with me

Yeah for sure I hear where you're coming from. I really love stripped down stuff like this and TMOE as well. But I love electronic stuff too. I guess I just like having the contrast, but Sufjan is awesome in both styles.
