'Sitting Down' is just such a funny opening statement, it's all over the place and there's some real classic tunes in there.

'Quit Smoking' just showed how consistent they could get.

Listened to 'Flotus' the other night - really thought it might struggle to hang onto that 5/5 rating. I was totally won over by it once again, late career absolute classic that one.

Agreed Doof, Flotus is right on the verge of a 5 for me.

Still haven't touched the Sticks yet, waiting till I finally finish these guys' discog I guess.

Zak - Impossible.

'sticks speak more to me in the real world, romantic for sure but based in a world I totally relate to. Sex, romance, relationships, getting old, feeling good about feeling down, etc.

Half the time the 'chop are more out there, a little surreal, songs full of oddball characters.

I can't really choose...my nostalgia pick = Tindersticks, my new love = Lambchop. Right now I listen to Lambchop ten times as much.

Both are unbelievably rich and satisfying.

Chop is more comforting and warm. Sticks is more theatrical.

Sticks is like a bastard behind the eyes hangover.

Sticks.

I'd better get another 5 or two out of those guys when the time comes.

'Sticks is like a bastard behind the eyes hangover.'

Classic.

Lambchop are more woozy, like a spliff and a pint in the sunshine, before collapsing

It’ll be interesting to see what you think bone.

Defo my fave bands of the last 12mnths and an absolute cert to stick for life.

Pleased I saw them, even if it was a really sedate latter career arthouse sort of performance.

Staples was a legend, 'How He Entered' choked me up, just watching him with the lyric sheet in his hand but never glancing down once.

He cuts a strange figure of being both dashing and an awkward git.

Curtains has been my aoty. Fucking amazing.

I need to return to that one, I know the first two a little bit better - saying that, there was a time I was playing the 'sticks as much as I've listened to Lambchop over the last 12 months. Was obsessed with them around 2004-2006 sort of time.

We need to do a gig again doof son. If these or sticks are playing anytime soon fancy it? Everyone else I know would stick pins in their eyes.

Tindersticks would be classic, hopefully they put on a more traditional gig than the Barbican show I saw. They’re due a new album so could get the chance :D
