Perverts is terrible. Anyways, this album rocks.[infinity] [period]
Yeah I def see this as my second favorite this year. I don’t see anything topping Lonely People With Power, but this is incredible. Think I’m gonna boost it to a 5 tbh

To me both Perverts and Lonely People are at 5, an awesome year overall. It’s interesting to see how much tastes diverge.

LPWP has that energy where it feels fresh no matter how many times you’ve heard it. I had it on during my workout today and I ascended as usual lol

Also as for the racism blowback, she’s owned it and apologized. It feels sincere and she seems like a remorseful person. Same thing happened with Paula Deen. I mean it’s just southern folks. And one of which grew up in a vastly different time. I’m from the south and in my younger years I was lot more ignorant as well. It’s more about owning the past, learning from it, growing and moving on. She seems to have done that.

Yeah I’d have to say this is probably top 10 of the year for me, not really surprised considering how strong Perverts was and how much I dug Fuck Me Eyes and Nettles.
I don’t think I’ve had one artist make 2 of my top 10 albums of the year ever. She’s had an insane year.

I do think I like this more than Perverts but Amber Waves and Punish are as good as anything else here

Janie is the perfect opener and Waco, Texas is the perfect closer

girl this is NAWT a 5, preachers is much closer to a 5 than this.
like props for making a proper slowcore record but i miss the pop sensibilities too much. and there is like 30 minutes of noise on this.

This was exactly the right move to make. And it’s not even noise, more like ambient.

The 30 minutes of "noise" (ambient) is my favourite part. This is ace, and I can't decide if I prefer it to PD. But if this is still sounding as great as it does now in a few months time, it could be my first 5 since 2022.

Nettles is legit one of my SOTY, but i agree with the critique of too much uninteresting ambience im all for a slow build up but uhhh

perverts is overall still more interesting to me, but it's pretty solid

Not sure how this stacks up with PD for me yet but FME, Nettles and Dust Bowl are awesome

This is over Preachers Daughter for me because none of these songs really feel ridiculously over length. I had that problem with like every other track on PD

Album Rating: 5.0
My feeling is that PD has some individual tracks (A House In Nebraska, Ptolemaea) that top the best songs here, but this is a more consistent album.
They're both great albums and I don't necessarily have a strong preference.
