excellent stuff
doesn't sound like black metal all that much most of the time tho, more like blackened death and even sludgy at times. reminds me of lord mantis. also, "the darkest so far"? I'm not sure I follow today's standards for what "dark" is. the final track even sounds like all those feelgood proggy bands like ne obliviscaris

I listened to Nonexistence while I read your review and was honestly blown away. I'm not too familiar with their discography apart from the first album, is this peak Abigail Williams?

Their previous album is pretty universally praised as their best. After that it really depends on who you ask lol.

Their older albums differ in style to this, definitely. All of their albums have something to offer though, as do their EP's.

I dig it. Didn't really get into it until Still Night but the back half of this album slaps.

not really a fan of the flaccid production and how track 1 sounds musically reminds me of Wolfheart. Will see if Walk Beyond the Dark spikes my interest more.

Walk Beyond the Dark is their best.

Quickly checking track 2 and seems a lot more exciting than track 1 from this one, both production-wise and music-wise.

finally remembered this came out! just completely forgot. very enjoyable as expected. i was caught off guard by how slow and doom-y this is. as well as how not really black metal it is, way more progressive than i thought. lots of dm riffs and very soulful guitar solos. second listen i dug a lot more!
really dig the variety and how the first 4 feel different to the final 3 longer ones, really peaks at the end. the closer is excellent definitely my fav track, cleans surprisingly work. feels very alcest-y. absolutely beautiful. one of my favs of the year.
