Lotta big winners of the new mixing here, specifically on the back half

Fake History is good enough to overcome the cringe, this mostly isn’t but the new production is nice

used to love this album now I think it sucks, not sure what happened.

This is what this album should have sounded like. I remember arguing with a friend when it came out - he didn't see a problem with the production sounding like it was recorded through a phone lol
This and the Three Cheers remasters are so, so good.

banshee, fear fever, dope beat and 27 club are the bangers here. rest is solid too if you're not reading to much into the lyrics. production makes this a whole new experience

I listened the hell of the old version back in high school and I still love it even considering the obvious cringe elements. Always thought it would be a clear 5/5 with a better production. Now I listen to this and idk... the songs are still so cool, original and wild, but I'm probably too used to the strange elements in the old mix and despite this one being objectively far better, it doesn't elevate it as much as I thought. Maybe it's the vocals too high in the mix and buried guitars, it lacks the energy and the punch of the weirder version.
But yeah I admit it's mostly habit and the old one is too much burned into my brain.

The Dope Beat is underrated, although the renditions version suuuucks. Possibly the most out of place feature ever lol.

I'm very inclined to listen to this but I really have to say it feels like it's coming over a decade too late.

what blows my mind is that they remastered fake history within one year of it coming out and that album sounded fine on its own
this sounded like complete dogshit and they did nothing about it

Remasters are so needed in music, not only to bring the quality up to current standards, but to bring light to great records of the past.
I found so many cool albums because they got remasters which brought attention to them. Otherwise I would've never stumbled upon them.

I can't tell if I love or hate this band. I feel like they have a lot of good parts that are immediately ruined by rap-rock or cringey vocals.
But the same bold energy makes the rest of their sound enticing.

I’m not exactly sure why they re-did this album but it did grow on me after a couple listens. I hope they are playing it on tour with Hawthorne Heights. I may be tempted to go if so. I’m definitely not much of a fan of their last actual album. It is just ok.

I just noticed the Fake History re-release after only a year lol after someone mentioned it here. This band seems to be making it their thing re-releasing albums that aren’t nearly old enough to re-release yet, nor necessarily in need of it.
“Here’s our new album, check it out. Actually you know what we aren’t done yet. Sike.”
I can’t wait for the re-re-release of their albums.

Re-releases with a couple new tracks are pretty damn common. I don't particularly like it, but it's hardly specific to them. And the remix of this was more than justified.
