My first half pick would be End of the World. I enjoy the first half but agree that the second half is where this thing really hits its stride.

Ah, the first half is so smooth though!
I love how adventurous and winding the second half is, but going from the title track to end of the world to more to lose is addicting as hell. I think more to lose deserves more love. Her voice works so well with a ballad and I am such a sucker for the relaxing brass

Yeah, More to Lose was initially my least favorite but the more I listen to it the more I like it. Her voice works so well with that style of ballad.

Album started out slow for me, but once I heard "Interlude 1" into "Easy Lover," I was locked in. Back half of the album rules so hard. Rating might go up to a 4.5 with more listens.

Only disappointment for me was I was hoping for more from Brittany Howard on “Walk of Fame” than what we got. Proper duet between her and Miley would’ve been fire.

I have never cared for her music, but I’ve always saw potential and can say I like her voice. I saw this review and I thought “eh okay I’ll give it a shot” not expecting to care much.
I have listened to this album 12 times today. Really thought Mayhem would be my Pop darling for the year, but this shits all over it. Fucking brilliant album.

Are people lowballing this just cause it's pop or because it's Miley Cyrus?

@Brabiz, can't emphasize enough how little my expectations were going in. Similarly, Mayhem was in my top spot for pop, but this has edged it out (so far)
@Million
I do think people are dismissive because it's Miley. She really doesn't have the same sorta rabid fan base to drum up the hype and I think a lot of people just have fatigue from Miley's projects in the past really just not being all that good

I’m fortunate to be someone that was entirely tuned out basically from Party in the USA up until the Something Beautiful music video. That song had the air of transformation about it.

miley's best full album by a fucking mile, i love bangerz and some of her work before that but this is actually incredible.
the first half of this is delectable, end of the world is arguably her best song ever?

It's a really special song. One of the greatest Abba knockoffs I've ever heard?
The little bit where the melody shifts before the bridge ("the sky is falling/falling like a comet now" is absolutely brilliant.
How did people let that single flop?!

I can’t believe how good this album is. I decided to give it a spin after seeing it on Apple’s new released music and halfway through I was like “damn, this is really a jam.” Gonna have to keep listening, but it’s a solid album and I would assume easily Miley’s best album.
