The Dress is what Pallbearer should’ve been after their first album.

This took me on an unbelievable musical journey I never wanted to end. A truly beautiful soundscape. Out of more than 3,000 albums, I've never kept an entire album in my digital collection — not once — until now.

This is great stuff, only heard the first album, so I don't know when those fitting gothic rock/post punk elements entered the band's sound.

This band has evolved so much since the first LP. They keep improving with each release. I think the accident definitely had an impact on them too. Great band. I loved Close but this is a step up definitely.

Holy crap @Memory, you joined in 2012 and this is your first comment? Album is that good huh!
@Voivod the goth vibe is actually the theme of this album. They have played with other influences before so their catalogue is definitely worth checking, not a single bad album

@DePlazz Yeah, defrost the embryo profiles we created back in 2012 just in case the world was ending. (⌐▨_▨)

Yeah this album is probably the most post-punk sounding album they've put out so far.
I hope they come back to the UK soon, I saw these guys during their Close tour and they played to a criminally small audience when I saw them, hopefully they'll get a bit more recognition over here with this album given its stronger post-punk/goth rock influences.

The debut LP is the only one I haven’t heard, but agreed with their impressive evolution otherwise - it’s certainly an interesting journey. Digging this a fair amount so far

spectacular stuff indeed and The Dress more than lives up to the hype….
Not that they sound that similar but band very much fills the void for me left behind by the Gathering from when they were on top of their game

Damned, this big goth vibe is carrying me away.
I didn't know this band at all. Everything is so good, it's ridiculous.
Instant 5.

They really nail some of the 80s goth guitar tones--think X-Mal Deutschland, Clan of Xymox, Lowlife, Play Dead, etc.--while also doing something new, different, and cool.

The soundbite made me curious. Jolly good show!

Thicker Blood is like almost like a spiritual successor to Over now By Alice in Chains
That two chord melody is used in so many fucking songs but I never get sick of hearing it

I feel you, I did go through a 10 year break up years ago and it's just painful but time and perspective makes it better, for sure.
Hey and I didn't have this amazing album to help me get through it
