Winona is gorgeous, but we have to talk about how Doberman starts off this record sounding like something typical from OCHL, then it just ascends with a performance that just floors anything from OCHL.

I initially didn’t really get the OCHL comparisons at first but now I kinda do get them but this album is like that album if you made it get to the point and cut out all the weird choices with like Brit-pop and glam rock and all that. I initially thought I was gonna have issues with this not having their long post-rock moments but I actually kinda prefer them not having them cuz none of them ever topped the ones in Sunbather anyway. Sunbather needed them. NB and OCHL, not really.

Body Behavior is one of the coolest things I have literally ever heard

The transition between brooding/menacing and jubilant/wholesome is so damn satisfying

Metal Trenches described Body Behavior as having instrumentation that could have came off of Turn on the Bright Lights, and after listening to it again I can definitely hear the Interpol influence.

Interpol is worth a check, Turn on the Bright Lights, Antics and El Pintor are all awesome albums. Deafheaven surprised me a bit with this one, the album is insanely good, I got into the band from a few singles, diped my toes and loved Infinite Granite then this released and I was doubting if I would like it, 1 spin after im already in love.

Turn on the Bright Lights is a must listen, Stella Was A Diver And She Was Always Down in particular is one of the best post punk songs I've ever listened to.

Still very early, but I do think this is musically their best. Sunbather will always be their best emotional work for me though.
