most of the games in the franchise are like turned based ya but dark messiah is a first person story rpg where you can like kick people into spike traps or throw boxes at them or cast ice spells on the ground and then watch them slip running after you and fly off a cliff. imagine a less open-world oblivion but with really really fun combat

just realized that I've seen people play dark messiah before and yeah its super goofy with the stuff you can do with the ice spells and cliffs



running heretic in dosbox since I don't want to pay for the other games but also not get malware in trying to pirate it

yeah i've given up after e1m5. this game's idea of difficulty is throwing a ton of enemies at you in various cruel and sadistic ways, and this mission is the first true taste of that.



really at the point where i play for 20 minutes, make little progress, quit, then repeat the next day. the map is also huge and i'm consistently at 5-30 life and very low ammo. its not bad if its for 10-15 minutes but more than that and it's irritating. also does not help I came in with little ammo anyway and was hoping to get some in the level.
