These guys might have to go in my vinyl collection…
I’m a huge CD addict and I’ll only buy records of stuff I already have on CD and just especially love and want an “upgraded experience” with. Anybody else like this or do people just buy wax now?

i haven’t heard the cd but i think it’s safe to say it sounds better than the vinyl record. lps are great for the ritualistic aspect of listening to an album but the sound quality often doesn’t match that of cds, especially when it’s from relapse.

I’d say there are some albums and styles of music that translate better on vinyl versus CD, but generally you get a better “sound quality” on CD. I do streaming for general listening and then collect vinyl on the side for my favorite stuff. Don’t have any CDs at this point.

Oh I'm obsessed. CDs are my "little treat" for myself for everything so I have stacks. Nothing like digging through piles of used stuff and finding something cool; found a couple The Locust discs the other day for like $3 apiece.
I bought this on CD the day it came out, and already have the rest of their discography too but no vinyl yet. My wax collection is SUPER limited to like, my 4.5 and 5.0 rated albums.

That’s kind of how I wish my vinyl collection was. I need to offload some of it tbh. I’ve preordered too much stuff that I hoped would be great but just isn’t something I even really listen to. Like Dark Tranquillity’s latest for example. Eventually I’m gonna try to list off some of my stuff on discogs. My collection isn’t that big though. Been buying vinyl since 2020 and have about 50 records or so. Haven’t counted them up.

The good thing is they hold value pretty well so you should be able to both A. sell them easily and B. get a decent return for them. Can always take them to a record shop that buys used too if you have one nearby, you generally get good value for vinyl these days.
