Its obviously a metal album and not jazz but I see plenty of similarities tbh.

Hawks- I was young, and that's prog metal, so I'm not really sure what that has to do with my current tastes/experiences, or my relationship with Jazz. I definitely have a bunch of ratings that I would ammend now, but I really cannot be bothered to prioritize that.

I don't think I've really assigned rating on this website in the past 10 years or so.

(Edit) Yeah, that was about 10 years ago.

If you like more eventful/busy Jazz fusion, Chick Corea is a great artist to check out. I really dig Return to Forever and Light as a Feather. Stan Getz & Bill Evans collab walks a perfect line between accessible and engaging imo.

Regardless, this is pretty great, for what it's worth. Not what I expected from the comments. I'm not trying to insult anyone, I'm just making an observation. There are countless Jazz classics that are either ignored, or downplayed by people who only gave them a cursory listen.

Somehow she has flown under my radar, although admittedly I don’t listen to as much modern jazz. Checked Polyhymnia and loved it. Going in on this now

Hawks- You were well within your right - haha.

Appreciate yall.

My objectivity is terrible, anyhow. I only rate records that I finish, and I often don't finish records that don't hit for me.

I am a notorious finisher, to a fault to be fair

album is real nice but Her Light does kinda overshadow the rest for me. In the more eastern moments I find myself uninterested and the male vox bit isn’t it

That's fair tbh. I feel the exact opposite but I can understand that take for sure.
