This is my first experience with Jerry's solo stuff. Gonna have to hear the others.

Oh damn hawks if you liked this you’ll love Degradation Trip
I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t really like double albums, but both discs totally work as individual records imo. So if you don’t feel like listening to 2 and a half hours of solo Jerry in one sitting you can totally just chop it in half.
Volume 1 ends with Gone, so Volume 2 would be starting with Castaway.

It falls into some of the same pitfalls as a lot of double albums for me, mainly feeling like there didn’t need to be so much, but just glancing at the tracklist tho I’d say I’d only cut 3 or 4 songs. Most of both volumes are killer.

Best AiC album since Jar of Flies

^ WORD
Saw Jerry and his band yesterday and these songs sounded HUGE live. To my absolute surprise Greg Puciato (!!!) was helping out on vocals and doing Layne's parts during AIC songs and it was fucking awesome

Yeah, im gonna have to call a flag on the play there chief. I like this a lot but it doesn’t fucking touch Black Gives Way to Blue or tripod. Now, the last two AIC records? Debatable. I still like Rainier Fog and Devil more but this has some really strong tracks too.
I’m just glad he’s continuing to expand on his discog even if it’s not the most diverse one in the world. He writes those chunky filthy ass riffs like nobody’s business, and his vocal harmonies are still phenomenal. I really wonder what Layne would be up to had he survived. He’s one of the greatest rock vocalists of all time, like undoubtedly. But I think most (if not all) of those amazing harmonies are because of Jerry.
I still think the unplugged version of Got Me Wrong is one of the most underrated recordings ever. They had such incredible chemistry. Layne obviously wasn’t in the best shape and to me at least, it looks like they almost came up with a lot of that on the fly.

this is good, probably his second best solo stuff behind Deg Trip but it's better than maybe Rainier Fog at the most in AIC discog lmao

I think Boggy Depot has higher highs but even that record feels bloated, and Jerry just didn’t seem as confident as a vocalist
