album's okay for them, meaning it's pretty good but kind of a "why listen to this nails album instead of the other three" nails album

Yeah my exact thoughts. It drags for me, and on a sub 20 minute album that is a badddddd problem to have

I think their next one will be better as long as the members stick around and build some cohesion. But yeah this is fine. Still has ferocity but it does feel a bit neutered. Nothing on here goes as hard as Violence is Forever. That's my personal bar for them.

Everytime it comes around with that drumming I’m like yes

t/t, Can't Turn It Off, and the closer are the non single highlights. Closer especially whew that last breakdown is nutty

That cover art rules.

I feel like their last album hinted at them lowering the tempo a bit and this is an extension of that. Pretty damn good, but as Nex said, the new Concrete Winds completely obliterates this.

Yeah, that album is downright psychotic. Great to see them get some love.

Lacking the Ability to Process Empathy and Dehumanized (the last remnant of the old speed) are the favs. Give Me the Painkiller and Can't Turn It Off are up there, too. Don't think this is too disappointing compare to YWNBOU. Like, it's a logical continuation of what happened on the last record with a few more guitar licks and less speed. Abandon All Life and Unsilent Death are still their gold standard, obvi.

Todd sounds absolutely unhinged on here, his vox might be my fav part

I think the singles still might actually be the best songs. Painkiller and Lacking have been on repeat all day. So damn catchy

Lacking is also good despite having the most laughable name on the track list

3.5.... THREE POINT FIVE!?!?! ohhh god. if this doesn't make me drive my face into dry wall, I'm gonna be PISSED.

Definitely some face + wall moments on it, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. They just need to find a way to harness the energy of the first 2 records and channel it to some more interesting song structures. Also, it’s baffling that it takes them this long to make these short ass records.

I really miss the hardcore vocal style of Unsilent death
