I like their debut because it sounds like Hour of Penance with corny melodic flourishes, but they have since leaned so hard into the gimmick that they might as well be Wintersun.

I am praying that Time II puts an end to this overdone hyper-compressed symphonic bullshit.

They either have no sense of restraint or have been pressured by Nuclear Blast to deliver bigger and more obnoxious music because I guess it draws crowds at festivals. Lorna Shore has basically supplanted them so there's a "struggling to stay relevant" aspect to it too.

I don't think so to be honest. There is no "right opinion". I think the rating of 3.4 speaks for itself. Its a good album with some less than redeeming sections but overall a good listen.

One troll spamming about 15 immature comments about the band blowing etc. isn't really any indication of the quality of the album. His comments are about as good as this review.

I only caught the first quarter of the album, but I don't remember thinking it was a '1'. It seemed like a more accessible version of what they've always done.

Used to listen to Oracles and Mafia, but everything after sucker hard. Don't think I'll bother with this one.

If I ever feel like listening to these guys, I throw on the video version of "The Violation" and "Sugar, and I'm usually satisfied and ready to move on.
