i hit What One Becomes just before this having had similar feelings (and gone straight to Haino's bands instead of sinking time into these collabs) and found it was a) a killer record and b) a pretty helpful warmup tbqh

also, I dig Acid Bath but repping them + dissing the genre where metal arguably peaked is a little irksome, lol
will check this over the weekend. I don’t remember liking early Sumac but I’m a changed man and I imagine things may be different these days

sounds like a v mature and balanced basis to take this band which does not sound like any of those bands on its own terms
