Magnetic Roses is great, was gonna shout it out in the review but figured I had enough of the tracklist in there lol. For me the best tracks are Conditioned, Laceration Wings, and Shapeless in the Dark

fair lol. melody is my favorite parameter of music so i dont mind them on paper but theyve been used badly by so many bands that i understand the reservation and fatigue

Yeah cleans in whatever-core kinda fall into three categories for me, serviceable: nothing special but keeps the music moving along and gives a nice break in intensity (this album is here), dogshit overly produced with the most low effort melodies (Wage War, other completely sanitized alt metalcore specifically designed for siriusxm octaneheads), and cleans that I actually enjoy and look forward to hearing.

Not a lot of bands fall into that last one but Static Dress is probably my favorite example of that atm

second jam going over a little better. ill give it a light bump up

i think i need to get poison the well out of my head when i jam this to get the most out of it. i understand why they're being brought up so much when selling this band since the style is pretty similar but that's way way way too high a bar of comparison that its almost not fair to these guys lol. pretty difficult for a bands debut lp straying so close to their influences to square up against one of core's most innovative and forward thinking bands (also he gets the job done but i am much much less fond of this guy than i am jeffrey)

along that note though im pretty excited for what their next couple of albums will be like when they find their own sound a little more

I think this is my favorite release so far this year. It takes me back to the formative years and what I loved about the genre growing up. Absolute terrific album.
