Interesting differences and similarities there Sunny - 'Rock the Cradle' so high is a biggie, will keep trying with that one
I'd have liked a couple more ballads on this but going by your ranking you certainly wouldn't have ;)

Regarding Rock The Cradle, I don't have any particular wisdom about why I like it, just seems catchy to me and every time it comes on it's a good vibe

Apparently this album was recorded in an Irish pub and the locals were invited in during recording - the more I read about this album the more i'm understanding how the finished product ended up with that 'magic factor'

I agree with a lot of Doof’s relative lower cuts, except “Rock the Cradle” which is upper mid-tier here for me right now

Funny I’d have described this album as Boneycore meets Sowingcore and they’re the two lowest ratings :D

The tender ‘nocturnal Wilco’ ambience of ‘I Wanna Be Where You Are’ is spectacular
Not sure even The Delines have managed a straight ahead ballad that pretty yet.

It’s almost certain I’ll go up, 3.5 is probably too stingy as but for now a lot of the stronger songs are holding at a 4/5 level enjoyment and there are a handful that still aren’t doing too much for me. But it’s a very comfy and enjoyable listen but it’s maybe not quite big or ambitious enough to justify the double album presentation.

I guess, I did quite quickly make a 50 minute playlist, so effectively a single album, from it - but then revisiting the songs I skipped they're actually pretty good and deserved a home.
From reading about the making of the album it seems they didn't envisage a double set but basically they fell in love with that pub and the magic just flowed and why not.

I’ll admit I’m a bit stuck on Good Looks this week which is maybe preventing me from giving this proper attention - I do feel it will hit me fully if I give it time ; “Old Dutch” at least is strong enough to warrant close attention to the rest.

The only track I don't love on this album is Hare and Hound and even there I only kinda dislike the chorus. My standout tracks are Lover Take It Easy, Old Dutch, See You Free and Waiting and Waiting

Good selection Cryptkeeper - I think 'Hare and Hound' is their attempt to record a more traditional folk song befitting the album being recorded in an Irish pub...the result is ok but not spectacular.
