This is an exhausting and relentless pummelling, perhaps a tad one dimensional, but it’s also v good at that one thing. Satisfying heft. I dig the prod / aesthetic.
Probably won’t ever be in regular rotation as I’m not sure how often I’ll want 48 mins in this style mind, but that’s okay

This is insanely good. Usually I don't vibe with midpaced sludge songs, but I Feel Nothing when you cry goes hard

This is already losing a little lustre... should cut the runtime
maybe I can just jam it in tiny segments, probably only need a max of 20 minutes of this in one sitting

I dig this, but I also find it super-dense. Not used to so much metal in one sitting (so far?).

To be fair a lot of (even) extreme metal isn't this relentless in its pursuit of crushingly relentless heaviness, at least not for a release of this length. These guys usually put more of an emphasis on spacing via doomy passages, for instance
It can certainly be homogenous

I'm having difficulty getting used to the angry bees in a jar production on this album.

Album starts to get “samey” about halfway thru. I respect the intent however.

Love how this is paced, The Promise/Panice Stricken, I Flee are such a nice reward for the end of the album

the promise is my least fav here tbh but i dig how catchy it is

I think its a weaker cut too but the catchy af first three minutes are such a necessary relief in the runtime imo. It'd feel pandery as the second or third track, but right near the end really positively isolates it in a full listen. If this fast-food version of Thou has any downsides its definitely the lack of dynamic variety, but unlike others I think this tracklist understands that deficiency and paces itself very thoughtfully

Im not drawn to a lot of music these days thats pure aggresive or solely heavy all the time. Thou is kind of the exception for me. I havent slept so this could be a tired ramble
