Iron and Wine just typically don't get a lot of fanfare these days. He needs to shop these songs around to whatever studio is pumping out the next teenage vampire film.

Man... I'm not sure how I feel about the album as a whole, but I was listening to "Tears that Don't Matter" yesterday as my daughter was crawling and taking toddling steps around the living room and the ending hit so hard.

I'd say this is one of his better works in recent years, although it's still a clear tier below his top 2-3 albums.

Listening to this now and it's ok. Lots of stuff here is kind of grating for me, but it has some really excellent tracks too. Taken by Surprise is fantastic.

It was really great! Seems like the middle of this album is gonna be the highlight for me, but we'll see. The latest album was so good it made me want to listen backwards over his past few, but idk if I'll make it past this one.
