"Chino Supremo’s Garbage Cuisino"
Heh.
While I don't think Ohms is THAT bad, I do agree that Chino and Stephen were not on their A-game here. I think my biggest problem is the songs tend to drag despite having some interesting elements. Your review has maybe convinced me to drop this to a 3.5.

I expected more seething, Row you didn't make it scathing enough. But I liked these ones:
“Ohh look at me! I hate this band that everyone else likes! Let’s make a pitchfork review to show my disdain for it!”
Just comes across as whining about not liking an album. I don’t think it is a good review but to each their own. I guess everyone wants to be a Pitchfork writer on here but lack the vocabulary or nuance. We get it, you hate Deftones. Go listen to your white supremacist black metal shit lol.
This is probably the worst review of all time, this album may not be there best it’s far from a 1.0 you gotta be kidding me remove this review asap
also lol at Sowing giving this a 5.0

That first line would read easier if you used "choice" rather than "decision-making."
I get that the purpose of the review is to shit on an album with a whirlwind of words but brevity is the soul of wit. Your review would come off as more biting if you condensed it with better word choice. Excuse me, better word decision-making.

i genuinely believe the average staff/contrib review on this site is better than the average pitchfork review

Agreed. I don’t get the vibe most people here are aspiring to write Pitchfork-type reviews. Pitchfork almost seems like satire from what I’ve read of their reviews, though I’m sure some reviews are still good

I'll extend this to say that the average staff/contrib review on here is better than most mainstream publication reviews

Honestly, I felt more compelled to write a genuine review instead of just shitposting for a few paragraphs. But evidently it was still too scathing for some people :]

I just think referring to someone’s singing as hot garbage in a review is stupid

I like this band, have done for many years but surprised at the high average score for this one. I agree with a lot of the review (even though 1/5 seems harsh), the album generally sounds 'off' and it's possibly their weakest release (this or Gore). I feel they set the bar pretty high with Koi No Yokan and haven't been able to match it since, hopefully next time.

Can't argue with that

It's funny cause I think Koi sounded a little off and I loved Gore way more than this. So we're just all over the place in this fandom. It's a blessing and a curse
