I think it’s kinda understandable tbh. This one is far less immediate than the others. not nearly as many hooks and slams, spends way more time messing around with weird compositions and experimenting with its own approaches. im not entirely sure it’s always successful but it’s a big swing and I respect the hell out of albums that go for the fences instead of doing the crowd pleasers.
I think for a lot of people this one will be a grower over time as it all seeps in.

I don’t know jack about BDM outside of a handful of classics but this is pretty enjoyable. Entertaining enough. I’m not sure I’ll remember anything afterwards. It might need time to sink in.
