Yeah hmm the 5 can stay until I feel heartless enough to 4 this - definitely one of the best metal albums of the year so far

I thought this was cool, but it struggled to stick with me
which is a shame because the title seems more memorable now...
shop of oboe exoskeletons!

this was easily one of the more enduring metal albums of last year tbh

I barely care about 10 albums from last year and most of them aren't metal, so I probably just struggled connecting to things in this realm in general. Also, didn't explore as much as I should've done
I mean that Chepang album was crazy interesting, but I haven't heard it much since that initial foray either
Closet Witch and Crisis Sigil were re-playable for a while, the brevity helped
A couple of the others I haven't revisited much at all, despite liking. Great Falls, Liturgy, Canyon Observer (think I played this like twice? lol)
not a metal year and certainly not a new release year generally for me, continuing on with that trend in 2024
Kostnateni and Horrendous got plenty of attention to be fair and I imagine the former is a keeper

just stop listening to prog and free up some of your commute time for other stuff, demon

lol yeah Great Falls / Liturgy / Canyon Observer were solid one-listen albums that I completely forgot to return to (probs a mistake for Great Falls, and would return to individual Liturgy tracks but)
Chepang/Closet Witch/Crisis Sigil/Gridlink were all crazy fun binges, but this scratched a different itch. Made me think of Mamaleek if they had cracked themselves out harder and taken a different path several years back

eh, barely listen to prog these days
commute time is a unwieldy beast, depends on how long I can eek out. Timing is everything and I like to full-album often. A couple of times a week my situation allows me to squeeze out a longer runtime when commuting, but I've been prioritising older stuff.

Great Falls got a few spins, not many though
I reaaaaaaalllly cannot be arsed listening to 80 minutes of Liturgy again despite being initially very enthused, I'll be honest. A few cuts were v good tho. H.A.A.Q will probably always be her peak front-to-back listen
