A lot of “find the note, George” moments on here

Uhhhh sometimes I guess lol

Pretty much every time he attempts clean vox without effects, or tries to go high it sounds like he’s searching for the note and not quite finding it. I noticed this on Slide when he first started trying new things as well. It’s absent on 100% Electronica cuz he just does his normal voice the whole time.

But anyways, I think I like this more than Slide but I’ve Been Young is the only track that comes anywhere near how anything on 100% Electronica makes me feel. The closer is epic tho.

Also neither this nor slide have any lyrical hooks as powerful as stuff like “I want to kiss you to death” and “it makes the babies want to CRY”

Idk 100% Electronica is a bit of a lightning in a bottle moment imo. Untouchable.

is this better than Slide cos that was mid city fm. 100% does seem like lightning in a bottle tbh

i think the title's just supposed to be a kind of exclamation, like woo hoo or something

re: his voice, yeah he's not using the proper support when he's singing high, probably needs to learn how to do proper mixed voice. when he was doing the opening part to "I Been Young" live, he was struggling to project over the music, which would suggest as much. though I think it's a bit of a misnomer to say what he's doing on 100% electronica is his "normal voice" cause it sounds like he's darkening it, his natural tone sounds quite a bit lighter

yeah i think it is. there's a big chunk of Slide that sounds quite unsubstantial. it's not as good as 100% though, I feel like that's one of those things you only get right like that the once tbf

Oh for sure, what I just meant was like his… signature voice… in the same way I would refer to Karin’s signature voice in the knife if that makes sense

yeah, it's more his bread and butter

and considering a lot of the guys from the era of music he's drawing from also did the fake baritone thing, I guess it seems kinda odd that he'd move away from it here

This was pretty good. Lots of it blurred together for me, but the moments that stood out were excellent. I Been Young is an early favorite of mine.
