It would've been a fitting way to go! I just wish they'd played for longer, maybe someone should've 'accidentally' locked the support acts in the basement or something, because honestly I didn't need them. Then we were 'treated' to an audio-visual intro slideshow thing, which didn't really add much to the experience for me, but then I think any potential ambience was ruined by all the random bits of distortion. Seemed like there were a few sound issues actually, as they asked for adjustments and looked puzzled a few times. Fortunately, once the setlist got going it wasn't majorly noticeable.
Seeing Eugene do his thing up close was certainly an experience, the guy seemed possessed at times. Intense performance. Worth it for that alone. I got to hear Stallkicker and The Last Good Time. I personally would've preferred more from that era, but I understand they were promoting the new material (was just confused that 2 cuts from Fuckfest were played). Some wise soul from the audience requested A Gentleman's Gentleman as the encore - the band asked what we wanted (would've been NOTHING from The Narcotic Story otherwise, so that was nice).
I may add more later when I remember, feel a bit 'weathered' today hence the late reply, lol

Surprised to hear they played some fuckfest, prob one of the last records I’d wanna hear anything from. Solid encore choice tho.

yeah same. Yoke did work rather well as an opener to be fair, then they played a bunch of stuff from this on the bounce before not returning to it until after A Gentleman's Gentleman (they played All Gone as the finale / second encore track)
'Nah they toured with Sumac around 2016/17'
maybe first headlining tour? Idk, the promotion (sort of) lied to me (maybe) and I didn't fact check

Turns out Johnny is a Londoner, somehow, everything makes sense now.

He’s a Glaswegian originally, I think
Anyway, I’d like to add that the crowd in Leeds were literally the best group of people to see a gig with. If you didn’t actively want to engage with anyone then they were very respectful… literally the first time I’ve ever not been affected by anyone in a negative sense at a gig (and I’m talking even mildly like the odd bit of unwanted jostling / noise etc).
