Yellowcard has an EP coming out July 21 but not sure if pop-punk is your scene

It's on the periphery for sure. I admittedly haven't listened to much Yellowcard, so IDK if the EP will do anything for me, but I'll likely check it out regardless

I'm more of a metalcore and prog metal guy nowadays rather than pop punk, but I still love a good spin of Green Day or MCR

Barring something crazy, it'll be a showdown between this EP and Yellowcard's for that top spot. Both are excellent releases, and I'm not normally a fan of EPs.

Same, but it's mostly because I really like having a 40-60 minute block of music to stream while I'm sitting on my ass at work as opposed to a 20 minute one. Helps pass the time

considering y'all stream from spoti, an artist can put whatever price, I honestly just paid it to support.

I had no clue this was out. This has just made my day. Just the first measures of "Stepping in the Same River Twice" are already putting a big smile on my face. So grateful ADJY is still working in this vein.

2) Here Here (5/5)
3) June Song (4.5/5)

Not a single track here is less than "excellent". What a phenomenal release.

I don't get the Kompys post. Maybe I'm just tired.
Haven't been able to stop listening to this and it's a real problem as I try to focus on the new Swans

Oh I'm definitely guilty in that case lol. I tend to see things through the scope of my own musical experience and expectations, i.e. "what'll be my sputnikmusic blog's AOTY" and EPs don't fit tidily into that equation. What I started doing recently is "best releases of [year]", but obviously that's still irrelevant to the artist's purpose for making music in the first place.

eps are literally albums but shorter / lps are literally eps but longer
if one of them is bad, they both suck
they are both frequently rubbish / some of them are fantastic
eps consume less of your life and immediately spike in value the moment you step out of rock
listen to eps

was expecting a more elaborately defined distinction between eps and lps from johnny
