Still need to check this. Album art is okay. Hopefully, having more info from the interview on the art direction will make me appreciate it more, but it doesn’t stir much in me without context so far, but it’s not bad or that big of a deal

'Agent Intellect' and 'Relative in Descent' have the best artwork, the rest aren't that striking/aesthetically grabby :/

Mates really into this band but never properly listened to them. This is super fucking good so far. Rain Garden, We Know the Rats and Make way are my favourite so far

First spin and I'm liking but not loving. But, that's pretty much been my experience with all their records before they all grow on me massively.

Elimination Dances reminds me so much of Modest Mouse it’s a bit distracting

“Graft vs. Host” is lowkey the best track here.

This is growing on me quite a bit. It flows quite well as a piece though I feel like some of the individual tracks are a bit forgettable/underdeveloped. Love the bits of steel guitar in a few tracks though as well as some of the synth textures. And the drumming is great as well.

This makes me think of a natural history museum or some kind of anthropology exhibit. This and BATS are SignedPermissionSlipCore

I think the drumming is phenomenal and tasteful on every Protomartyr release, but there were too many rim clicks in the album for me? Idk, I just feel like every hit should should be a drum or a cymbal when it’s not some kind of chamber music or jazz, so I’m probably biased.

I have Relatives at a 4.5. They really tap into something special on that album.
