This album is so incredibly british, It is not a bad thing though. Unique mix of sounds which I really like. This sound like a 4 to 4.5. Unsure about how I will rate it. The singer voice has that post punk era vibe to it I generally love.

The way this cycles between accessible, dance-worthy pop and just neckbreaking post-hardcore/hardcore forays is impressive.

I think this is what makes me like the album more than I should. They do it kinda easily. Sure it can look disjointed for the first few listens but you just feel a theme/direction later

I wish I could like Skech185 album more. The grittiness and aggressiveness in the voice is just grating , but the delivery grew a lot to me. I remember putting the album at 2.5 at first. Now it is 3.5. I just think it clash too much with the beats but maybe it is just me

I think they're a perfect complement, it's a man losing his wits amidst this crumbling, detached, abstract background that doesn't give a f*ck about him; he'll shout his lungs out and Markey's beats won't provide any forgiveness. Gives it this eerie vibe, but it definitely thrives off of that sort of contrasting dynamic.

I do like your description of it. I just love how subjective our experience about music can be. Someone can see it as being the most "obnoxious" thing ever. someone see it as a fight between them kinda and there is ton of in between too

Also, this is where I see where my lack of descriptive language hurt . Feels French man

The vocals are for sure an acquired taste. At times this reminds me of Why?, ANCO, and a handful of other bands. Not so sure about the longevity of this anymore tho

😆 yeah, sometimes I feel the same about non-British vox…

then again, there are certain variations of the native tongue which sound like ass when broadcasted and the closer to ‘spoken’ it sounds, the more irritating it often is (bizarrely includes something close to my actual accent at times 🤔)… essentially I like neutral or very ‘foreign’ accents accompanied by music
