really great. didn't expect them to have a deep following here in Aus but the place was wall to wall and everyone was loving it. end of Turbines/Pigs Charlie went absolutely insane on the drums, it made Snowglobes sound like an audition tape and we eere clapping for like five minutes straight when he stopped. that dude is fucking unreal

saw them opening for Nick Cave last year and jfc it was one of the most awkward sets I've seen in my life. new album will have a lot of redeeming to do

My understanding through online osmosis has been that the Nick Cave support run was pretty uneven.
Which is a bit surprising to me, because they were phenomenal when I saw them.

combination of dead crowd, graveyard stadium venue (Nick Cave worked a literal miracle on this somehow) and almost all their material (inc songs from this) being baseless waffle. was like watching a broken 6-way conversation where no one knew what story they were trying to tell

lol not surprising if it was on the earlier end of them working through material.
I'm a pretty big fan of the band, but I haven't kept up some like some have. My understanding is they have had two cycles of working material since Bush Hall and that could definitely lead to huge levels of variance lol
