I mean yeah, sort of. I think it can be easy to recognise qualities other people might like or find fascinating that just don't hit you in the right way, because it may not be your particular tipple. I also think there are varying degrees in which you can apply this concept. One which measures objectivity as being equal to, or anywhere near as important as personal taste, is completely the wrong approach. Also, a lot of people likely over-emphasise the extent in which they can ascertain where this distinction lies.

'Pet Sounds' is filled to the brim with classic pop songs, it has catchy hooks that I can recognise as earworms, is an important album for many people and I can see why. I still find it irritating af and would never pretend otherwise in the interest of 'objectivity'.

theres still some dnb underpinning this but its mostly idm-ish in the way that idm is just a mishmash of subgenres smashed together.

and i just think theres too much music in general and most of it is fairly boring.

do u not think there was too much music in like 1991 when there were at least 42069 metal bands all over the world that just tried to sound like metallica or slayer or death but were like 5 tiers below

yeah the "knowing about them" part is what pisses me off. its so easy to make an album look professional in the promotional materials now and then i put it on and its amatuer sloppy garbage. at least i know shitty 90's metal demos are gonna be bad.

This album is fantastic. Exciting to get back into Current Value. I love his stuff from the late 00s and early 2010s.
