Halfway into Night Stalkers and I'm already bored. What's with that average song length, and 14 tracks wtf

I'm surprised I made it to the end, tbh

Spotify told me to listen to the new Blind Guardian album after this and holy shit it’s way better.

Made it to the end but I doubt I'll return to it.
This has a few exciting riffs and great solos, but I guess their megastatus has relieved them of the duty to construct an overall solid and good album. Not a new story, of course.

After one listen the bonus cover of Police Truck is probably my favourite thing on here, so that's not a good sign

t/t has a sick riff though

Gave the first 3-4 tracks a listen on the drive to work and was pretty impressed. Think the songs were smart in the way they referenced some of the RiP/CtE riffs.
I like that what I've heard is more diverse and adventurous than Chugtopia. Keen to give the whole record a blast but so far this is reminding me most of CtE and Youthanasia with some thrasher moments mixed in which I'd be satisfied with.
Also, great review.

This rips. If you can’t enjoy this for what it is, I feel sorry for you.

that one single was okay, vocals are just so bad now tho, and the mixing on them it all sounds so fuckin synthetic
also megadeth in D still sounds wrong to me

“Vocals are just so bad now tho”
Yeah, I was gonna say that as well. I know Dave’s 60 and all — not to mention previously having throat cancer — so he’s definitely doing is best. But those low snarls really diminish the power and impact of the riffs. Especially on faster cuts like Night Stalkers and Sacrifice

Was really looking forward to this and it's just kinda...there.
Title track kinda sums it up for me. I'm nodding my head, going "ok, ok I'm interested" and then all of a sudden it cuts out to some random soft-spoken part and kills the vibe.
Three singles are solid and so is Dogs of Chernobyl but the rest is forgettable.
