Album's a grower though. Main reason I took this up from 4.5 to 5 is its replay value for me. Been listening to this for several months and keep coming back to it. Musically it's unlike most thrash or other metal I've heard in a long, long time. Technical level is insane, guitarwise I guess Muenzner-related projects such as Eternity's End would be a reasonably close comparison.

That acoustic moment closing the title track is fucking ace! Love the sample use opening The Radical also lol

Also sonic I'm with you on normally not enjoying comeback albums from older thrash/death metal bands, to the point where I just outright avoid them for the most part these days and just stick with the oldies. I'm on track 4 right now though and this thing is ripping pretty damn good.

@RunoftheMill: I'm envious man hopefully I'll get the same experience. Definitely don't deprive yourself of the Helstar facemeltery if you get the opportunity

You’re lucky cause the initial announcement that they were working on a new album was several years ago lol

Probably gonna end up bumping this to a 4.5 if the replay holds up. The vocals don't do it for me in certain spots but man the playing is so on point here

Never heard of them, but this album was a really nice surprise. I will definitely check out the other two albums.

I don't like the mixing or the drum sound, everything's screaming, but the guys' thrash signature is interesting, I dig the unorthodox approach despite the vintage style.

I knew DePlazz was right. This shit rules. Bringing back that fresh late 80s Tech Speed Thrash. Love this. It reminds me a bit of Atheist's Jupiter, which is one of the most underrated thrash albums ever.
