More like The Velvet Cope, bc rhythm nation way better!

Hmmm I've slowly started considering this, but there's not much between them
Janet is more fun and sexier than either, and therefore tops

yes with the addendum that All for You now has about as much endearingly dated appeal as Control does, and should be a mandatory epilogue

All for you is great it just needs a severe edit. I can’t with these 80 minute albums.

This album is a journey it’s perfect, it’s really only every time that falls flat to me even tho free xone is prob too long a jam

When she says “we have to deal with the past” on “special” is one of those lyrics that creates a new distinct thought in my head every time I hear it. Really delves deep. Maybe a 5.

All For You takes a bit to get going. It’s kinda too bad “China love” is a highlight—why did that idea for a song exist back then?

My gf opened me up to the world of Janet Jackson but doesn’t like rhythm nation much—she thinks the mix of “change-the-world” lyrics and the new jack swing sound is unseemly and I’ve been swayed a bit to that conclusion. A bit.

Control through this could all be considered 5s for me depending on the day.

All For You to me is a solid 4 but I def agree it's too long. Someone To Call My Lover is top Janet song though. Don't @ me! (;

I'm more partial to Rhythm Nation, but this is absolutely in her top 3 for me

Reasonable tbh feel like this definitely is the Janet that's aged the best

Rhythm Nation / this (both borderline promotion worthy, but early days) > Janet > Control, thus far

This is an amazing album, and in a kind of unusual way. The flow of it, the sense of a psychological journey. It's more than the sum of its parts AND has loads of amazing individual songs

Jan comment still true. Decision time upcoming. And yeah the flow is kinda low-key weird and unforthcoming yet ultimately enduring over time

Satisfying to blast this out in the office. The tilt for this environment is perhaps worth the +.5, especially as it's keeping me awake, lol
