Yeah sowing your ranking is pretty close to mine, Up the Mountain is the only thing here that blows my socks off

Surprised this isn't on the front page, it's very, very good (review and album).

regina still doesnt get enough love
after soaking this in a little i have concluded that this is already extremely high up in her discography ranking and expands on the style of remember us to life in exactly the right way
up the mountain, what might have been, spaceage fairytale, coin and loveology are all all-time classics for her and there's not a dull moment here
looking forward to the inevitable deluxe bonus tracks

Her voice has never sounded better.

I know this isn’t her “thing” necessarily, but I do wish some of these were more memorable when they weren’t on. I love it when I do listen to it, but very little draws me back. After being underwhelmed by “Loveology”, I now absolutely adore it

Agreed, thinking about leaving for RYM

Up the mountain is really cool but I think it could have been way better. She repeats lines too much

up the mountain is my least fave thing on here, always have preferred her more straightforward piano numbers more

I enjoy both her upbeat stuff and her ballads, but I think with the slower stuff especially I need the lyrics to hit harder than they do here. "Laughing With" is probably my favorite song of hers overall, and nothing here approaches that level of insight. As far as the upbeat stuff goes though, Up the Mountain is incredible. I love how it shifts throughout its runtime; it's really thrilling and unpredictable.

To be fair i am a big Regina fan and Neek's and Sowing's comments about this have kept me from checking it yet lol, y'all have made it sound extremely disappointing

It's not disappointing so much as it is inconsistent, at least for me. There's 3 songs here that are among her very best that elevated my expectations, probably beyond what's actually fair, and then most of the album - while still pretty good - failed to live up to that.
Edit: so yeah maybe mildly disappointing after all, but in a way that feels unfair to the artist, if that makes sense lol

haven't heard the album but on RYM only three tracks are bolded (4+ average), so that seems to be a consensus

This is her Extraordinary Machine if that helps

Slex, this is absolutely wonderful. I don't hear the inconsistency at all. It's in her top 3 for me.
