Not impossible. I like him a little better this time than on the first lesson. But I'm struggling with those vocals.

Agree with Colton, he has the sort of unconventional approach you just might end up loving

Once you’re on board you’ll like a lot of the rest of his back catalogue, you just need a breakthrough

Not sure I understand the question, but you know it's still June, right? (And I'm holding out hope that this experiment of yours might have an even longer lasting effect. I'm rooting for you, anyway.)

Yeah, I'm dubious Doof. From where I stand right now, Mr. Finn would be doing REALLY well if I wind up giving this a 3. Right now, I'm looking at a 2.5. You know that people not having traditionally beautiful voices doesn't automatically disqualify me from liking them (think Preacher Boy or Larry Kirwan from Black 47), but so far, this guy's voice bothers me.

There are also, unfortunately, some other things going on right for me right now that make checking out the back catalog unlikely.

So he didn't really win me over. Kind of liked the last song, though.

Rachel did her best with the deal she'd been dealt,

And that's what I've got for a eulogy

Yep I liked the new one a lot too. You can tell it was produced by Adam Granduciel (War on Drugs). I've never really thought about it before, but it does make sense for them to team up.

Album is the perfect direction for me, he was getting a bit locked in the groove I felt, this shakes it up - and he's quoted as saying these are his more focused lyrics he's ever put out and it shows. Whole thing is a concept album...but the songs are also individually relatable.

Might end up one of the albums of the year.

how would you describe the concept?

I've not fully digested it of course but I've read a few reviews and apparently it's a priest having a crisis of faith and also he's in various relationships etc - it's the same character throughout, but it would have taken me ten listens to realise I imagine if I hadn't read that!

Some great lyrics and delivery on 'Fletcher's':

'So then there were the three of them drinking vodka in the kitchen. Tiny shiny dresses, Steph and two others. One of them was gorgeous but seemed a little stand-off. So I chatted up the short one, until she brought up her boyfriend'
