I've been a Trivium fanboy since Ascendancy and even I have noticed the regression in his screams but they didn't even sound this bad on the last Trivium album! They're really grating at times now. The lows sound alright imo, it's really just the mid/high scream he does that breaks up really badly.

It's a different screaming technique. What he does on the recent Trivium albums is the same thing he used to do before Silence In the Snow. But live, on twitch and on this he uses a new technique that's way less destructive to his voice. Personally I kinda always hate it but on this I guess it fits kinda.

Exactly. For Trivium he's still doing the "bad" technique in the studio just cause he knows people want it to sound a certain way.
