There's a metal channel I follow on Youtube called Thralls of Metal; really good channel that does a lot of discog rankings. But in one video, they asked their viewers to submit nominations for the worst metal albums of all time, and one person submitted Obscura. Needless to say, I was a bit dumbfounded, lol

Nice to see some Thralls of Metal love. I'll have to see if I can track that video down. You know the title by chance? Agreed on seeing how someone could hate this also. It's a bit on the fringe. Even with that in mind though calling it one of the worst is a bit wacky. I could see not digging it but there's plenty of pure shit balls out there well worthy of that title before this even becomes a thought

Yeah that's absolutely indefensible.
I will say that although this is a classic, I actually greatly prefer Colored Sands and perhaps another album or two by Gorguts to this.
It's just so hard to get into for me, but whenever I listen, I am amazed.
