i definitely think his rhythm sections are what cradle his ambient melodies and give them purpose. when they're all thats there... i dunno. they feel despondent, and not in a good burial-esque longing way. like they just feel out to dry without any weight.
one of kindred's best moments is the end of the t/t as it transitions into Loner (god, what a song Loner is btw). its completely in this style, but what holds it up for me is everything that came before it, and everything thats to come. its the moment of clarity after the rave has pounded your skull but the drugs are still swimming in there and the dj is loading another disk (not that i ever have seen live wax spun but you get the point).
i kinda just rambled and i'm sure no one cares plus whats there to say about burials vibe that hasnt already been typed on some internet forum but in short, i fell asleep to this last night and i wish i hadnt been able to

This is super boring

I guess I shouldn't be surprised Burial is still getting 4.5's on this site for anything remotely decent he puts out 15 years later.
(oh f that makes me feel old).

only thing about this that sucks is that "EP" is part of the actual title

So I gave this a spin last night in the middle of a deeply heroic mushroom trip...I took a monstrous dose, respectfully...and yeah it's dope

@normaloctagon thank you for the response! i do hope i grow to like it like youre saying especially with more attentive listens. last night i gave it a more personal listen, granted not fair to say "proper" cause similarly doc, a few friends and i had leftover goodies from a crazy new years bender, and did a very very deep k dive into this EP lol

Awesome but tbh get more out of Chemz and Dolphins than this. It also made me 5 untrue because I now realize there will never be something like that again.

Oops! watch me be conspicuous and drop a truthbomb here for those still living in cognitive disentrance. The Burial you know and love is never making a comeback. His artistic vision dried up long time ago, he's all about the cringe nowadays! It's sad, I know, I know. Be assured that you can lower your hype ratings, nobody will care - there's no train to ride, oh yeah, and stop pretending this EP is anywhere near 3.2 stars and cope less lmfao.
I swear, these random ass EPs only make me hate him more. It's embarrassing, he's like the Eminem of electronica. Just quit already.

'This was pretty but I don't see myself ever needing to revisit it.' (2)
after a small handful of spins this is very very palatable, reasonably good even, but I'm struggling to conjure up any strong feelings about it
