Dying of the Embers is epic and monumental as fuck and those sweet sweet guitar melodies in How Many Tears to Nurture a Rose are so beautiful

black smoke curling from the mouth of war, dying of the embers, how many tears, and us dark invincible are my faves here. pleased by this album, feels like a good balance between focused songwriting and a slight expansion of their sound with the current lineup

This is enjoyable.

Revocation should be credited for the album title tho.

I've been saying that since my early teens, I don't believe the phrase is copyrighted ;)

What's your favorite Revocation DePlazz? I listened to their first three albums and altough I enjoyed them I felt they were lacking something.

@Frost15: Deathless, Existence Is Futile and s/t are their best for me.

Hadn't cared for CoF until now, listening to this one and Hammer of the Witches and I must admit there's motherf*ing riffs in spades here, although the symphonic/gothic thing still isn't my cup of tea.

That band is forever tight in my memories with the IT-Crowd TV series. Will give it a chance anyway.

This is pretty solid, I'm really feeling like the band was really jazzed up to make this record.

wow this is great. honestly that’s most surprising part is how good Dani sounds. genuinely thought his voice was shot by about thornography.

record sounds like they’re all having a blast tbh. very fun.

Nymphetamine got me into this band, but the album kicks the shit out of that lol this may be the best album they've released.

Great review! CD is sitting next to me. Will grab my headphones later and consume it. Also: I love the artwork. Did anybody grab the ridiculous box set? I don´t see the value of having the CD and vinyl (also, I don´t understand the vinyl and MC (!!) revival...but whatever)

Sounds like you're going to have a blast. There's nothing quite like a classic vinyl in my opinion, everything seems to take on a larger dimension, especially the cover. That being said, I haven't bought a vinyl in ages.

Last vinyl I bought was Elder's Reflections of a Floating World (ltd Green edition) and it sounded fabulous. The design was amazing too. Some vinyls are definitely worth the extra cash, specially if you love art.

It is good that CoF have managed to hold onto the same lineup for 3 successive albums (save for Schoolcraft leaving) as it's really helped them retain that level of consistency.
