This band is surprisingly divisive and I’m not sure why

Because of the hype they're not living up to, I guess. They really shouldn't be very divisive

Nice rev, Dewi. Keep meaning to keep up with Jinjer, been a fan since “King of Everything”, even before the meme reacts. Guess now is as good a time as any to dive back in to them.

Not that they sound the same, but I really think this is probably going to outshine Spiritbox

yea I feel the hype is mainly around people putting tati on a pedestal (within reason sure til it spills over to simpville), and people not really understanding where the members’ styles are coming from. for a band citing shit like guano apes, otep, opeth, mudvayne, meshuggah, gojira, and all of the other outside shit NA fans don’t get enough exposure of, they sure do get dimissed as some yt reaction hype-bred band, when it took them 10 years to get here. they deserve all the success.

Mudvayne! That was the band Tatiana said was the main reason she started screaming, watched it on an interview and couldn't remember.

The Guano Apes influence is real and pretty cool, I actually love that band's first two albums.

Tati deserves the praise but yeah, she has many a simp haha.

Rest of the band is so talented, this album is further proof of that.

They could have gone for "easy listening" music after Pisces... but they keep pushing themselves and write ambitious music.

I love this, and I think this is the way they will stay up there for a long time.

I can see how the “classical” songwriting approach can sound a bit meandering for some but there’s so much formulaic shit out there. funnier knowing that people had called this formulaic too concerning their past albums.

I thought Macro was pretty meandering tbh, this is an improvement.

King of Everything is a great album too.

“classical” = classically-trained composing

Ah, okay. I didn't notice anything like that on Macro tbh, it just didn't catch me
